We are delighted to announce that we are open now for our 2013 Sportive which will take place on Saturday June 1st 2013 ! The ambitious route, which starts and finishes in Lasswade takes in the spectacular scenery of the Scottish Borders and some 8000ft of climb. www.entrycentral.com/bethanysportive 

Many thanks to the 181 riders who took part in the Sportive in 2012. We know that you all had a fantastic day and we thank you for sending us such positive encouraging feedback!  


Perhaps you heard about our event over the airwaves as live updates were broadcast this year on Black Diamond, local radio station! Maybe you've read about us in the newly published Harper Collins book 'World's Ultimate Cycling Races'. We were selected to be in the World's top 300 cycles rides so it's onwards and upwards for the Bethany Edinburgh Sportive.

We will be looking for almost 50 volunteers to volunteer for the 2013 Sportive so do get in touch if you fancy volunteering or you know someone who'd love to be part of an exciting day doing good for a worthwhile cause.  Three cheers for our amazing team of 40 volunteers who were there this year from start to finish registering cyclists, handing out refreshments, providing first-aid cover, taking photographs, in safety vehicles and motorbikes and marshalling.

Look out for out chief volunteer and route supervisor Tom Stratton who masterminds the overall safety and signage of the entire 102 mile route – no mean feat! He has been hard at work planning the route safety for 2013. Please click on our Routes page to read the description and look at the map.

2013 is a big year for Bethany Christian Trust. We will have been helping homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland for 30 years. Help us celebrate our Big Birthday and join us for a fantastic day out. Unlike other Sportives, we've never put our prices up since we opened in 2009. It's only £30 and at Bethany, £30 goes along way! It costs us around £30 to take a homeless person off the street, the give them a hot meal, a safe dry and warm night in our emergency shelter, great advice, breakfast and a real opportunity to move on from their homeless situation.
