Thank you for visiting the Bethany Sportive - Edinburgh website.

The 2012 Sportive will be held on
Saturday 2nd June

The event is now open for registration so please secure your place by clicking to Register today

Please click on the Route Page in order to see detailed maps of both the Challenge Route and the Super Challenge Route.  Neither route had changed from 2011 so that riders can come back and try and beat their personal best.  Perhaps those of you who took on the Challenge route last year may consider the Super Challange route of 102 miles which takes in the climb (and descent!) of the formidable Witchie Knowe!

We are the only Sportive of this length in Edinburgh and pride ourselves on our great reputation for a superb route, backup and friendliness.

Hannah Biddulph, Event Organiser commented after the 2011 event:

"Many thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s Cyclo-Sportive. With 217 riders taking part on Saturday 4th June, this has been our biggest Sportive to date.  The route which started and finished in Bonnyrigg took in the spectacular scenery of the Scottish Borders and some 8000ft of climb.

This year 108 cyclists took on the Challenge route of 72 miles and 109 opted for the 102 mile Super Challenge!  Amongst them were two of our own Bethany staff Tom & Edward who raised almost £2k between them! This year’s event has raised £10k for the ongoing work of Bethany with homeless and vulnerable people in Scotland.  Many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who gave of their time to support us. A special thanks to our volunteer Tom Stratton who masterminded the overall safety and signing of the 102 mile route."
